Muskie Country Tournament Circuit News

November 3rd Pewaukee Lake Muskie Tournament

On Saturday, November 3rd 2012, Smokey’s Muskie Shop will host the 1st Annual "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" on Pewaukee Lake. Teams will be allowed to score two muskies for the competition that must be at least thirty four (34") inches or better in length. First place will pay $10,000.00 with a field of sixty five teams paying down five places with the entry fee at $300 for a team of two anglers. The competition will start at Smokey’s Muskie Shop at 7:30am and will conclude at 4:30pm with the awards to follow shortly after.

Although the Smokey’s Muskie Shop 1th Annual "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" is an independent tournament, it has been granted the status of a WMT Series™ sanctioned event allowing the competitors to fish beyond the limits of one tournament. The winners of this year’s November 3rd Pewaukee Lake "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" will receive an automatic invite to the 2013 WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP™ to be hosted on Lake Namakagon next year, September 28th and 29th with a scheduled pay- out of $140,000.00 with full fields of scheduled events. Not only will a victory mean a great deal to the team who wins the Autumn Muskie Tilt™, but all points earned by competing teams during the tournament will count towards the 2013 WMT Series™ Rankings™ where the winning team in the final point standings could win $20,000.00 with full fields of events.

This is the first year for the Smokey’s Muskie Shop "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" on Pewaukee Lake but not the first time a muskie tournament has been hosted on the first weekend of November. If the previous muskie tournaments held on the same date on Pewaukee is any indication of how the event will play-out, then a high percentage of the competing teams will score on muskies with a few real trophy fish will be scored as well. The majority of the muskies will be taken during the tournament on jerk baits, soft plastic swim baits, and double bladed spinners, although twitching and pausing crank baits that are weighted, so that they are neutrally buoyant, should be effective as well.

The 1st Annual Pewaukee Lake Smokey’s Muskie Shop "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" still has some open spots remaining. If you are interested in competing in the tournament you can sign up for it by getting on the WMT Series™ web site, www.WMTseries.com and download an application form, or by calling 715-277-4411 for an entry form to be sent to you. Also, you can sign up for the event the Friday night before the tournament, November 2nd, at The Machine Shed N14 W24145 Tower Road, Waunakee, just off HWY 94, at 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

The WMT Series™ events and sanctioned tournaments are open to the public. Muskie Country™ Wraps Up Season at Bone and Wapogasset

The final weekend of tournaments for the 2012 MUSKIE COUNTRY TOURNAMENT CIRCUIT™ (MCTC™) will be hosted on Bone Lake September 8th and Wapogasset Lake the following Sunday the 9th. Both tournaments are open to the public and still have some open spots left. The final two events are the thirteenth and fourteenth events on a schedule of fourteen qualifying (one-day) tournaments for the inaugural season of the (MCTC™). Anglers competing at the Bone Lake and Wapogasset tournaments will be fishing not only to win the event, but to accumulate enough points to qualify for a chance to fish in muskie fishing's highest paying Championship on the Eagle River Chain on October 6th & 7th. The top fifty finishing teams during the 2012 MCTC™ will qualify for muskie fishing's biggest prize at the WMT Series™ Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met.

This will be the second time the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) made Bone Lake a qualifying stop on the tour, the first being June of 2007 when only two muskies over forty inches (40") would be registered for the event. This year will be an entirely different story however, as the MUSKIE COUNTRY™ has adopted the WDNR's immediate release rules and all muskies thirty four inches (34") will be scored, including the one day tourney on Wapogasset Lake. This is sure to be welcoming news to those anglers wishing to compete on Bone Lake to rack up points to qualify for the WMT Series™ Championship not to mention to win the event itself. The MUSKIE COUNTRY™ is so certain that the 2012 Bone Lake and Wapogasset Lake tournaments are going to be two very exciting and entertaining events for all who compete, that we have already schedule both lakes to host qualifying events the following 2013 season. The WMT Series™ has bumped up the purse for its one day events and both the Bone Lake and Wapogasset Lake tournaments will have a purse of $19,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches seventy five (75) teams. The cost to compete in an MCTC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event.

If you are interested in fishing the Bone Lake tournament you can register on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, September 7th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Wilkins' Bar and Resort on the west shores of Bone Lake at 1091 238th Ave, Luck. Registration for the Wapogasset tourney will be at Waterside Bar and Grill, 1342 Lone Pine Lane, Amery on Saturday June 30th from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. The awards for the Bone Lake event will be held at Wilkins' Bar and Resort at 4:00pm Saturday at the conclusion of tourney and at 4:00pm at Waterside Bar and Grill for the Wapogasset event.

The WMT Series™ events are open to the public. WMT SERIES™ BOOM & MOHAWKSIN TOURNEYS HAVE OPEN SPOTS

On Saturday June 30th, the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) will host a one day qualifying event on Lake Mohawksin in Tomahawk with a one day tourney the following Sunday on Boom Lake in Rhinelander. Both tournaments are open to the public and still have some open spots left. Both events are the eleventh and twelfth events on a schedule of fourteen qualifying (one-day) tournaments for the inaugural season of the Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ (MCTC™). Anglers competing at the Lake Mohawksin and Boom tournaments will be fishing not only to win the event, but to accumulate enough points to qualify for a chance to fish in muskie fishing’s highest paying Championship on the Eagle River Chain on October 6th & 7th. The top fifty finishing teams during the 2012 MCTC™ will qualify for muskie fishing’s biggest prize at the WMT Series™ Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met.

This year will mark the twelfth season in a row that the WMT Series™ has hosted a qualifying tournaments on Lake Mohawksin and Boom Lake over the years and for very good reason…the tournaments usually fills up and it produces big fish with numbers of fish which is vitally important for those teams who have ambitions of qualifying for muskie fishing’s most prestigious tournament…the WMT Series™ Invitational Championship™. Over the years WMT Series™ Lake Mohawksin tournaments have produced as many as twenty four (24) muskies during the one day event and Boom Lake producing as many as twenty (20) with the biggest at each event registering a 49 ˝” muskie. Not only is Lake Mohawksin and Boom Lake favorite stops with the anglers for the trophy muskie fishery, but because the people of both Tomahawk and Rhinelander have been such great host and very welcoming towards the competitors making Lake Mohawksin and Boom Lake easy choices on the schedule. The WMT Series™ has bumped up the purse for its one day events and both the Lake Mohawksin and Boom Lake tournaments will have a purse of $19,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches seventy five (75) teams. The cost to compete in an MCTC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. There is still a chance to get in to either but don’t hesitate as each has a history of filling up!

If you are interested in fishing the Lake Mohawksin tournament you can register on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, June 29th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Registration for the Boom tourney will be at Pine Heaven Saturday June 30th from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. The awards for the Lake Mohawksin event will be held at Sara Park at 5:00pm Saturday at the conclusion of tourney.

The WMT Series™ events are open to the public. If you are interested in expanding your muskie knowledge and enjoying the competition with others who share your interest, log on to www.WMTSeries.com web site or www.professionalmuskieanglercircuit.com for info and an entry form or you can call 715-277-4411.

WMT Series™ will host two great events in Price County

On the first weekend in June, the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) will host two one-day qualifying tournaments in Price County. The first event will be held on June 2 nd on the Pike Round Lake Chain and Squirrel Lake with teams choosing one of the bodies of water but both will be going head to head for the competition. The next one-day event on the schedule is the following Sunday, June 3 rd where teams will have the choice to fish the Phillips Chain or Butternut Lake for the tournament. The Pike- Round Chain/Squirrel Lake tourney and the Phillips Chain/Butternut Lake event are the sixth and seventh events on a schedule of fourteen qualifying (one-day) tournaments for the inaugural season of the Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ (MCTC™). The top fifty finishing teams during the 2012 MCTC™ will qualify for muskie fishing’s biggest prize at the WMT Series™ Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met. The historic 2012 WMT Series™ Championship™ will be hosted on the nearby Eagle River Chain on October 6th and 7th.

All four bodies of water (Butternut Lake, Phillips Chain, Pike-Round Chain, and Squirrel Lake) are very popular bodies of water throughout the years for the WMT Series™, but in order to offer a purse $19,000.00 (when the field of competitors reaches seventy five teams) we had to combine two bodies of water per event as to avoid over-crowding on any one lake. The results of combining two popular lake groups for each one-day event will allow for a better experience for all of our competitors, resulting in more muskies available to be captured which is vitally important for the anglers looking to gain more points to qualify for the Championship. The cost to compete in an MCTC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. Both the Price County MCTC™ one-day qualifying muskie tournaments still have some open spots remaining.

If you are interested in fishing the Pike-Round/Squirrel Lake and or Phillips Chain/Butternut tournament(s), you can register for the tournaments on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, June 1 st at the Moose Jaw Resort on the west shores of Round Lake, or by road off of Shady Knoll Drive from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The awards for the Pike Round/Squirrel Lake event will be held at the Moose Jaw Resort and at Northern Pines Resort for the Phillips Chain/Butternut Lake tournament, with both starting at 5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday at the conclusion of each qualifier.

WMT Series™ Revisits Lac Vieux Desert & North/South Twin

On Memorial Day weekend, the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) will host tournaments on Lac Vieux Desert on Saturday, May 26th and a one day event the following Monday, May 28th on North/South Twin Lakes. Both the Lac Vieux Desert and North/South Twin events are the fourth and fifth events on a schedule of fourteen qualifying (one-day) tournaments for the inaugural season of the Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ (MCTC™). Both tournaments are the first tournaments for the WMT Series™ to be hosted in Vilas in 2012 that will culminate in muskie fishing’s highest paying Championship on the Eagle River Chain on October 6th & 7th. The top fifty finishing teams during the 2012 MCTC™ will qualify for muskie fishing’s biggest prize at the WMT Series™ Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met.

Both the Lac Vieux Desert and North South Twin Lakes tournaments have been some of the most popular event for the WMT Series™ over the years and for very good reason…they produce big fish. In fact North South Twin Lakes still holds the record for the most fish registered at a one day event of 28 muskies, a feat that has been accomplished twice at the “Twins”. Also, North and South Twin are credited for registering two muskies over fifty (50”) inches during the same tournament. Each of the Lac Vieux Desert and North South Twin Lakes tournaments will have a purse of $19,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches seventy five (75) teams. The cost to compete in an MCTC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. Both the Lac Vieux Desert and North/South Twin Lakes muskie tournaments still have some open spots remaining.

If you are interested in fishing Lac Vieux Desert and or North/South Twin Lakes tournament(s), you can register for the tournaments on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, May 25 th at the Hilltop Resort on the south shores of Lac Vieux Desert, or via road off of South Shore Drive from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The awards for the Lac Vieux Desert event will be held at the Hilltop Resort and at Grape’s Twin Haven Resort for the North/South Twin Lakes tournament, with both starting at 5:00pm on Saturday and Monday at the conclusion of each qualifier.

WMT Series™ Pewaukee & Okauchee Events have open spots

On the weekend of May 19th, the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) will return to Pewaukee Lake, the location where the WMT Series™ made history last October hosting the largest guaranteed muskie tournament championship cash payout of $55,000.00, not counting the thousands in prizes. And not unlike last year, the WMT Series™ will conduct an early qualifying one day event on Pewaukee Saturday, May 19th followed the next day by another tournament on Lake Okauchee, returning to Okauchee after a year’s hiatus. Both the Pewaukee and Okauchee events are two of fourteen qualifying (one-day) tournaments for the inaugural season of the Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ (MCTC™). The top fifty finishing teams during the 2012 MCTC™ will qualify for muskie fishing’s biggest prize at the WMT Series™ Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met.

Since the WMT Series™ first started visiting Pewaukee Lake in the spring of 2002 it has been a favorite stop for our competitors filling the field every year but the first. In 2004, the WMT Series™ added a Lake Okauchee event to the same weekend enhancing the total tournament experience providing plenty of fish catching action and big fish. Lake Okauchee is credited for producing the largest muskie ever registered in a WMT Series™ event in 2005 that measured 51 ÂĽ inches. Both the Pewaukee Lake and Okauchee Lake tournaments will have a purse of $19,000.00 when the field of competitors reach seventy five (75) teams. The cost to compete in an MCTC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. Both Pewaukee Lake and Lake Okauchee muskie tournaments still have some open spots remaining. If you are interested in fishing Pewaukee Lake and or Lake Okauchee tournament(s), you can register for the tournaments on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, May 18 th at the Machine Shed Restaurant on Tower Road just off HWY 194, Pewaukee from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The awards for both Pewaukee and Okauchee tournaments will be held at the Machine Shed Restaurant at 5:00pm both Saturday and Sunday at the conclusion of each qualifier.
