2012 PRO-MAC™ is set to make history again

In its first year, the 2011 Pro-MAC™ set the record in muskie tournament fishing with the highest cash pay-out of a muskie tournament circuit for a Championship ending event, but that was just the start. The WMT Series™ along with its two tournament series, the Pro-MAC™, and MUSKIE COUNTRY TOURNAMENT CIRCUIT™, is poised to fulfill our original dream of making a world class muskie tournament series comparable to any of the larger Bass or Walleye circuits that are so widely popular. As was announced before, we are entering in to the 2012 season with the intent to pay-out a whopping $100,000.00 to the first place finishers at our season ending Championship with a purse of $160,000.00.

The Pro-MAC™ format will be changed slightly in 2012, limiting the series to just six tournaments (two-day events) with the Champions being crowned by virtue of the team with the most points at the conclusion of the sixth qualifier. At the season's end, the tournament Champions will be crowned by virtue of the highest placing team in the point standings. The top 50 teams from the Pro-MAC™ will unite with the top 50 teams of the Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ to compete muskie tournament fishing's biggest prize the World Muskie Tournament Series™ Championship (the World Series of Muskie Fishing™).

Unfortunately for the 2012 season, we will have to drop the transport method (temporarily for with hopes of obtaining a variance from the state in the future) to allow muskies 34 inches or better to be registered in all Pro-MAC™, and MCTC™ events (including LVD), and the Championship. We will be utilizing a combination of witness, photograph, judges at times, and the use of voice stress test to further verify the legitimacy of each registered muskie during the 2012 season to allow us to use the "immediate release format" and measure any muskie 34 inches or better. We will allow, as usual, only two muskies per day per team.

Yes, we have increased the entry amount of each qualifying tournament from $330.00 to $370.00 but the end results is an increase in the pay-out amount for each Pro-MAC™ and MCTC™ event's total purse. More importantly, this small increase in the qualifying tournaments entry fee has allowed us to increase the pay-out from the 2011 Championship's $55,000.00 purse and 174% pay back, to a whopping $160,000.00 purse and a 410% pay back at the Championship instead. Even though there is a $40.00 increase in the entry fee this year, you can be assured that the extra money that goes towards increasing the qualifying tournaments pay-outs and the huge purse increase at the Championship, will be greatly appreciated by all of the participants.

All of our additions and changes are sure to make for a great season for the tournaments of the World Muskie Tournament Series™. We hope you will join in on the fun and the excitement.
