November 3rd Pewaukee Lake Muskie Tournament

On Saturday, November 3rd 2012, Smokey’s Muskie Shop will host the 1st Annual "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" on Pewaukee Lake. Teams will be allowed to score two muskies for the competition that must be at least thirty four (34") inches or better in length. First place will pay $10,000.00 with a field of sixty five teams paying down five places with the entry fee at $300 for a team of two anglers. The competition will start at Smokey’s Muskie Shop at 7:30am and will conclude at 4:30pm with the awards to follow shortly after.

Although the Smokey’s Muskie Shop 1th Annual "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" is an independent tournament, it has been granted the status of a WMT Series™ sanctioned event allowing the competitors to fish beyond the limits of one tournament. The winners of this year’s November 3rd Pewaukee Lake "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" will receive an automatic invite to the 2013 WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP™ to be hosted on Lake Namakagon next year, September 28th and 29th with a scheduled pay- out of $140,000.00 with full fields of scheduled events. Not only will a victory mean a great deal to the team who wins the Autumn Muskie Tilt™, but all points earned by competing teams during the tournament will count towards the 2013 WMT Series™ Rankings™ where the winning team in the final point standings could win $20,000.00 with full fields of events.

This is the first year for the Smokey’s Muskie Shop "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" on Pewaukee Lake but not the first time a muskie tournament has been hosted on the first weekend of November. If the previous muskie tournaments held on the same date on Pewaukee is any indication of how the event will play-out, then a high percentage of the competing teams will score on muskies with a few real trophy fish will be scored as well. The majority of the muskies will be taken during the tournament on jerk baits, soft plastic swim baits, and double bladed spinners, although twitching and pausing crank baits that are weighted, so that they are neutrally buoyant, should be effective as well.

The 1st Annual Pewaukee Lake Smokey’s Muskie Shop "Autumn Muskie Tilt™" still has some open spots remaining. If you are interested in competing in the tournament you can sign up for it by getting on the WMT Series™ web site, www.WMTseries.com and download an application form, or by calling 715-277-4411 for an entry form to be sent to you. Pro-MAC™ Minocqua Qualifier CANCELLED for September

Pro-MAC™ Lake Namakagon Autumn Muskie Classic™ Still Open

On September 15th and 16th the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) will be concluding the PROFESSIONAL MUSKIE ANGLER CIRCUIT™ (Pro-MAC™) regularly scheduled 2012 season of qualifying tournaments with the Lake Namakagon AUTUMN MUSKIE CLASSIC OPEN™. The Lake Namakagon AUTUMN MUSKIE CLASSIC OPEN™ is the sixth and final qualifying event for the 2012 Pro-MAC™ season that will determine the top fifty teams receiving invites for muskie fishing's most prestigious event at the WMT Series™ Championship™. Already the 2012 WMT Series™ has had enough early participation during the regular season to "crush" the previous record for the biggest Muskie Tournament Circuit Championship cash pay-out of $55,000.00 that was set in 2011 by the WMT Series™. As more and more teams enter in to the remaining qualifier for the 2012 regular season, the Championship's pay-out will continue to increase. The Eagle River Chain of Lakes will be the setting for the history making 2012 WMT Series™ Invitational Championship™ on October 6th & 7th.

All of Lake Namakagon, and its connecting Spring Lake and Garden Lake, will be open for the competitors to fish on. This year marks the first time the WMT Series™ has hosted a tournament, qualifier or Championship, on Lake Namakagon and it is long overdue. Lake Namakagon reputation as a trophy muskie fishery is well documented and the temptation for the WMT Series™ has been far too great for too long. With our new procedures in place and working extremely well, it now allows us to host an event on Namakagon counting any muskies 34 inches or greater because of our WDNR approved "immediate release" format. Now that such a great muskie fishery is open for us to compete on, the WMT Series™ has already scheduled the 2013 Invitational Championship™ to be hosted on Lake Namakagon September 28 th and 29th, which is only a difference of thirteen days from this year's qualifier and next year's Championship, making the 2012 Namakagon qualifier a great opportunity for tournament anglers to learn a great deal, giving them a distinctive edge at the 2013 Invitational Championship The 2012 Pro-MAC™ Lake Namakagon AUTUMN MUSKIE CLASSIC OPEN™ tournament will have a purse of $31,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches one hundred and twenty five (125) teams. The cost to compete in a Pro-MAC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. The Lake Namakagon muskie qualifying tournament still has some open spots remaining.

If you are interested in fishing the Pro-MAC™ Lake Namakagon qualifier, you can register for the tournament on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, September 14 th at Lakewood's Resort on the south shores of Lake Namakagon at 21540 HWY M, Cable from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The Saturday night festivities, also the ease out location for the Lake Namakagon event, will be held at Lakewood's Resort starting at 4:30pm. Tournament hours will be from 6:30am to 3:30pm on Saturday and 6:30am to 12:30pm on Sunday. The awards for the Lake Namakagon event will be held at the Lakewood's Resort as well on Sunday at 2:30pm at the conclusion of the qualifying tourney.

The WMTS™ Loses Longtime Angler

On Friday, August 10th, longtime WMTS™ angler and close friend Steve Schneider of Phillips, lost his battle with lung cancer. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his brother Mike, girlfriend Linda, daughters Wendy & Jamie, sister Mary and his beloved grandchildren.

Steve and his brother Mike have been with the WMTS™ since the inaugural season of 2001. They have both been unfailingly loyal and have always participated in numerous tournaments each season. Steve was a dedicated fisherman who would tirelessly "pound the water", no matter how much fun he had the night before!

Steve will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, generous heart, loyalty to his family and friends and his lifelong love of fishing. He will be deeply missed by Tom & Beth and the rest of the WMTS™ anglers.

STEVE – you made a DIFFERENCE in the world!!

Pro-MAC™ Eagle River Chain Qualifier, A Prelude to History

On August 25th and 26th, the Eagle River Chain will host one of the most intriguing and important muskie qualifying tournaments ever to be hosted by a muskie tournament circuit. Anglers from far and wide will be converging on the Eagle River Chain to compete in the PROFESSIONAL MUSKIE ANGLER CIRCUIT™ (Pro-MAC™) MUSKIE MASTER OPEN™ in an effort to not only win the two day major event, but also to qualify and pre-fish for muskie fishing's most prestigious event at the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) Invitational Championship™ that will also be held on the Eagle River Chain on October 6 th and 7th. The historic 2012 WMT Series™ Invitational Championship™ on the Eagle River Chain first place prize could net a team a record smashing $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met. Already the 2012 WMT Series™ has had enough early participation during the regular season to "crush" the previous record for the biggest Muskie Tournament Circuit Championship cash pay-out of $55,000.00 that was set in 2011 by the WMT Series™. As more and more teams enter in to the remaining qualifiers for the 2012 season regular, the Championship's pay-out will continue to increase.

In the twelve years that the WMT Series™ has hosted muskie tournaments on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes, the chain has always been a pivotal body of water for our competitors, making or breaking teams' chances who aspire to make the season ending finals. Over the years, the Eagle River Chain has afforded the WMT Series™ tournament anglers the ability to come from obscurity, using the chain as a launch pad to salvage their season or to a successful tournament fishing career. With this year's Invitational Championship also being hosted on the chain, makes this season's Eagle River qualifier a monumental event of epic proportions and potentially critical in attaining the "Holy Grail" of muskie tournament fishing by winning the WMT Series™ Invitational Championship™. As always, the August Pro-MAC™ Eagle River Chain will not disappoint by producing a ton of action and a high rate of angler success that will put smiles on most of the competitor's faces as they pile on points to qualify for the Invitational Championship. The chain will be open from Cranberry Lake to Waters Meet Lake with two ease out locations at Wild Eagle Lodge on Duck Lake and the Chanticleer Inn on the channel between Eagle and Voyageur Lakes. The Pro-MAC™ Eagle River Chain MUSKIE MASTERS OPEN™ tournament will have a purse of $31,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches one hundred and twenty five (125) teams. The cost to compete in a Pro-MAC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. The Eagle River Chain muskie qualifying tournament still has some open spots remaining.

If you are interested in fishing the Pro-MAC™ Eagle River Chain qualifier, you can register for the tournament on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, August 24 th at the Wild Eagle Lodge at 4443 Chain O'Lakes Rd. in Eagle River from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The Saturday night festivities will be held at the Eagle Lanes on HWY 70 W starting at 4:30pm with door prizes and the leader board on display to see what fish have been caught, when fish were captured, and who the tournament leaders are. Tournament hours will be from 6:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday and 6:00am to noon on Sunday. The awards for the Eagle River Chain event will be held at the Wild Eagle Lodge on Sunday at 2:00pm at the conclusion of the qualifying tourney.

On August 18th and 19th the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) will be continuing its 2012 regular season of qualifying tournaments with the PROFESSIONAL MUSKIE ANGLER CIRCUIT™ (Pro- MAC™) R.A.M.M. The lower section of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes will be the setting for the history making 2012 WMT Series™ Invitational Championship on October 6 th & 7th.

The entire Manitowish Chain of Lakes will be open for the competition with Greer's Pier on Spider Lake and Bartling's Alderwood Resort on Alder Lake being the two ease out locations to spread the field out and put the competitors closer to their favorite waters to fish on the chain. The WMT Series™ has been making the Manitowish Chain a regular stop on the circuit since 2003 and for very good reasons, it has been rated by many as the best muskie fishery in the state, producing a healthy mix of quality trophy muskies and numbers of fish which is what every muskie angler dreams of, especially tournament muskie anglers who are looking to pile on points to qualify for the Invitational Championship. The Pro-MAC™ Manitowish Chain R.A.M.M. CUP OPEN™ tournament will have a purse of $31,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches one hundred and twenty five (125) teams. Already the WMT Series™ has had enough participation in the first half of the 2012 regular season to break the previous record for the biggest Muskie Tournament Series Championship cash pay-out of $55,000.00 that was set in 2011 by the WMT Series™. As we continue to accept new entries for the remainder of the 2012 season regular scheduled qualifiers, the Championship's pay-out will continue to increase. The historic record setting 2012 WMT Series™ Championship™ will be held on the lower section of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes October 6 th & 7th.

Earlier in the season, the Pro-MAC™ made a stop at the Three Lakes Chain in June with the MUSKIE GUERDON™ that didn't disappoint producing thirty five (35) scored muskies with twenty two teams earning critical qualifying points toward a chance to fish in the Championship. The Three Lakes MUSKIE SUMMIT OPEN™ is expected to duplicate or exceed the previous tournament success that might make the Three Lakes August qualifier the most important event of the regular 2012 Pro-MAC™ season for teams looking to secure their place at the Eagle River Championship. The Pro-MAC™ Three Lakes Chain MUSKIE SUMMIT OPEN™ tournament will have a purse of $31,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches one hundred and twenty five (125) teams. The cost to compete in a Pro-MAC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. The Three Lakes Chain muskie qualifying tournament still has some open spots remaining.

THREE LAKES CHAIN WILL HOST PRO-MAC™ MUSKIE GUERDON OPEN™

The Three Lakes Chain will be the setting for the inaugural MUSKIE GUERDON OPEN™ on the weekend of June 16th and 17th. THE GUERDON™ is the second qualifying tournament on the schedule for the 2012 PROFESSIONAL MUSKIE ANGLER CIRCUIT™ (Pro-MAC™) that consist of six qualifying events with the season ending champions of the Pro-MAC™ being determined by the team who has the most points throughout the year. Angling teams will not only be competing to win the Three Lakes MUSKIE GUERDON™ but also to be one of the top fifty (50) finishing teams during the 2012 Pro-MAC™ season to qualify for muskie fishing's biggest prize at the WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met. The WMT Series™ Championship™ will be held on the lower section of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes October 6 th & 7th.

It's fitting that the first MUSKIE GUERDON™ (meaning muskie prize) is to be held on the Three Lakes Chain because over the years, the Three Lakes Chain has the WMT Series™ all-time average high for registered muskies per tournament and holds three of the top four spots for muskies registered in qualifying events. Pro-MAC™ anglers "in the know" who are looking to qualify for muskie fishing's most prestigious event, the WMT Series™ Championship™, look forward to the Three Lakes Chain June and August qualifiers because the chain elevates the chances for the competitors to catch numbers of fish that equates to a higher points total to assure a spot for teams at the Eagle River Championship. The Pro-MAC™ Three Lakes Chain MUSKIE GUERDON™ tournament will have a purse of $31,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches one hundred and twenty five (125) teams. The cost to compete in a Pro-MAC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. The Three Lakes Chain muskie qualifying tournament still has some open spots remaining.
